Issue 16: WWF on the Road To Wrestlemania and Bischoff is a Hypocrite
Well, this issue has been a long time coming, and here it is. If you're pro-WWF, you'll like it. If you're pro-WCW, take your usual spot underneath your chair.
The WWF is soaring right now, with all-time high ratings and their biggest PPV of the year just 3 weeks or so away. They've got a very strong WM15 card with many celebrities rumoured to be appearing. They are absolutely slaughtering WCW in every category. And I knew it would happen.
As much as many "hardcore" wrestling fans hate it, "sports entertainment" kicks the snot out of wrestling in the world today. I'm sorry, but I get giddy when The Rock dishes out another sweet line, or when the Undertaker nearly chokeslams McMahon, or when Sable/Debra reveal a little too much. They have caused a lot of controversy from various groups, but as Vince McMahon knows, they don't "get it". People need to understand that the WWF isn't trying to pass itself off as wrestling anymore. And that's what all you protesters out there don't understand. Instead of taking the easy way out and singling out wrestling and burning it at the proverbial stake, you could be checking out the latest Van Damme flick or teenage sex movie and claw its eyes out. For years parents and other protesters have given wrestling a bad name, by saying it's fake. What we (wrestling fans) have told you for years is that we know it's fake, but maybe you should ask Van Damme how many of those bloody fight scenes he did himself. And what you overlook is that movies and TV shows aren't real either, but you don't see people saying, "Hey, that Friends episode was funny. Too bad it was fake."
I'm getting way off topic here. Bischoff is a hypocrite. Really! He must have a split personality or something. He has signed Sandman and turned him into Hardcore Hack, and is ready to put him in a Hardcore division with fellow ex-ECW mates Raven and Bam Bam Bigelow. Not only is that a blatant ripoff, but just yesterday he announced to WCW that they would remain a G-rated program. Yeah. Right. With the success of the WWF women, Bischoff has recently brought his women into the spotlight, with the Kimberly Page/Steiner abduction angle, which I personally find disgusting, and Torrie Wilson seducing David Flair into a spot with the Wolfpack by wearing a red dress and throwing herself at him. Oh, that is SO G-rated! It is by no means at WWF level, but it's way above G. Also, the Hogan/Flair match at Uncensored will be a barbed wire cage match. Looks like the blood is back, be it old blood. So why would Bischoff say he finds the WWF degrading, and says that WCW will remain a G-rated program, and still justify making these moves?
Bischoff must face the facts here. If he wants to have a wrestling program, USE YOUR GODDAMN WRESTLERS!!! Guys like Bret Hart, Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit are wrestlers and should be main-eventers, yet we must witness Age In the Cage Part 73, and have guys that would have been retired from the freakin' priesthood (had they chosen that way of life), continue to remain on top. Paul Wight is the perfect example. Like he said, two days in the WWF, and everything is changed. Suddenly you've got the biggest man in wrestling today on Vinnie Mac's side, and in the main event for Wrestlemania, albeit as a ref, in just a month. It took several months for The Giant to even come near a main event. If this isn't a sign for Mr. Jericho to come on down to Titan-land, then I'm a Nitro Girl.
I think I'll leave you on that pleasant thought of The Endbringer being a Nitro Girl. Hehehe.
Rest In Peace,
The Endbringer
